On 7 July 2011 on the tugboat project PE-65 a full-scale trials was successfully finished to ascertain the escort parameters of the vessels.

The maximum retention intensity for escort operations is as follows:
at speed of 8 knots is 79.2 tons,
at speed of 10 knots is 81.4 tons

The results, approves by the Russian maritime register of shipping, exceeded the estimate design parameters, confirming the wide range of using multifunction escort tug project PE-65 for escort and towing of heavy-tonnage vessels as well as vessel’s high stability and maneuverability.
